For builders and commercial teams

Buy every trade and material package on complete scope.

On a single job you might compare quotes for concrete, steel, plumbing, electrical, hire and finishes, each in a different format. QuantDoc puts them on the same basis, shows what each price leaves out, and gives you a record you can stand behind.

Bundled price vs separate labour

Provisional
  • Supplier AAs quoted $4,000.00Full scope priced
  • Supplier BAs quoted $3,750.00Full scope priced

As quoted, ex GST.

Provisional — check before relying on this: Supplier A: no quoted total to check the lines against; Supplier B: no quoted total to check the lines against. Supplier B has the lowest complete-scope cost at $3,750.00 ($250.00 below the next quote).

Margins are lost in the gaps between quotes

A builder’s margin is rarely lost on the big numbers. It goes on the small things nobody priced: the concrete pump one supplier included and another didn’t, the installation labour that was “by others”, the freight that was “to be advised”, the disposal that wasn’t mentioned at all. Each gap looks minor on the day of award. Together they decide whether the job makes money.

The problem is volume. A site manager or contracts team might compare dozens of packages across several jobs in a month, often on a phone between site visits. Nobody has time to rebuild every quote in a spreadsheet, so decisions get made on the bottom line and the exclusions get read after the order is placed.

QuantDoc is built for exactly that moment. Upload the quotes, describe what you need, and within the comparison you’ll see which items are matched, which are missing, which are excluded and what each supplier’s complete price would be, or why it can’t yet be known.

How it fits a builder’s day

  • Every package, one method

Concrete, trades, hire and materials are compared the same way, so your team’s decisions are consistent from job to job.
  • Missing items made visible

A line one supplier priced and another didn’t is flagged as a missing item, never assumed to be free.
  • Bundles unpicked

Supply-and-install prices are recognised as including installation, so they can be compared fairly against separately priced labour.
  • Reports you can file

PDF, Excel and CSV exports with every figure linked to its source and every adjustment listed.
  • Saved comparisons

Paid plans keep your comparison history, so you can find what you accepted and why when the invoice arrives.
  • Team features: coming soon

Shared projects, roles and approvals are planned but not yet available. Today each workspace is used by one person.

Worked example: the pump that wasn’t on the other quote

Two concrete suppliers price 10 m³ of N32. One adds pump hire; the other doesn’t mention it.

Example data · calculated by the QuantDoc engine

A line item one supplier didn't quote

What was quoted

  • Supplier A: 10 m³ N32 concrete at $250/m³ plus concrete pump hire $800 (ex GST).
  • Supplier B: 10 m³ N32 concrete at $240/m³ (ex GST). No pump mentioned.

INCOMPLETE — Supplier A is the lowest fully-priced quote, but Supplier B has unknown costs. No overall winner can be declared yet.

  • Supplier B: no matching item for "Concrete pump hire"
Synthetic example quotes. Figures are computed with decimal arithmetic by the same engine that analyses uploaded quotes. Unknown costs are never treated as zero.

On the concrete alone, Supplier B is cheaper per cubic metre. Because the requirement here was only the concrete, B also has the lowest complete-scope cost. But the pump row is flagged as a missing item for B. If your pour needs a pump, B’s price isn’t complete until you add one, and the question to B is drafted for you. The engine doesn’t guess the answer; it makes sure you ask.

Bundled vs separately priced work

One floor-finish trade quotes a single supply-and-install rate; another prices the tiles and labour separately. QuantDoc recognises installation as included in the bundle and compares complete scope.

What QuantDoc doesn’t do

It doesn’t know market rates, it doesn’t vet suppliers, and it doesn’t interpret contract conditions; possible contractual points are listed as issues for professional review. AI-assisted reading (paid plans and the trial) only helps read difficult documents and is never used for arithmetic. See security for how documents are handled and pricing for current plans.

Frequently asked questions

Can my whole team use QuantDoc?

Today each workspace is used by one person. Team members with roles, shared projects and approvals are planned for the Business plan and are marked as coming soon on the pricing page until they are available.

What kinds of quotes can builders compare?

Trade and subcontract quotes, material supply quotes, equipment hire and services: anything where two or more suppliers price the same need. Upload PDFs with a text layer, Excel (.xlsx) or CSV. Scanned PDFs have limited support.

What happens if one quote includes an item the others don’t?

The row is marked as a missing item for the suppliers that didn’t price it. QuantDoc doesn’t assume a missing item is free or unnecessary; it flags it so you can decide whether you need it and ask for a price.

Is the comparison something I can show a client or bank?

Yes. Reports export as PDF, Excel or CSV, with the source page and line for every figure and every adjustment (unit conversions, GST, assumptions) listed. What-if scenarios are clearly labelled as hypothetical.

Does QuantDoc pick the supplier for me?

No. It shows which quote is lowest on each view and what is still unknown. Price is one input; programme, quality, warranty and relationships are yours to weigh.
