Solutions
One comparison method, shaped to how you buy.
The same evidence-first comparison, whether you level a tender, check a variation or choose between three supplier quotes. Pick your role or the task in front of you.
Who it’s for
By role
- EstimatorsLevel subcontractor quotes against your scope or BOQ, surface exclusions and price the gaps before tender close.
- Contract administratorsCompare revisions and variation prices line by line, and isolate the balance the line items don’t explain.
- BuildersBuy every trade and material package on complete scope, with a record you can file and show.
- ProcurementNormalise units, quantities and GST across supplier quotations and export an evaluation record.
- Owner-operatorsTwo or three quotes, a plain-English answer and the questions to ask, without a spreadsheet.
What you’re comparing
By task
Each page explains the problem, the method and its limits, with a worked example calculated by the QuantDoc engine.
- Construction quote comparisonCompare construction quotes on a like-for-like basis: matched line items, normalised units and GST, exclusions, provisional sums and missing scope, all traced to source.
- Subcontractor quote comparisonCompare subcontractor quotes for the same package: itemised vs lump-sum prices, exclusions, qualifications and missing scope, with break-even points for unknown costs.
- Tender comparison softwareTender comparison software that matches line items across submissions, normalises units and GST, flags exclusions and scope gaps, and never treats unknown costs as zero.
- Tender levellingLevel tenders against a scope or bill of quantities: each line marked covered, partial, missing, excluded, alternative or different quantity, grouped by trade.
- BOQ comparisonCompare priced bills of quantities and subcontractor quotes against your BOQ baseline. Find quantity differences, unpriced lines and missing scope with source references.
- Scope gap analysisFind scope gaps between competing quotes: excluded, not mentioned and to-be-advised items, and the break-even cost where the cheapest-looking quote stops being cheapest.
- Quote revision comparisonSee exactly what changed between quote revisions: added and removed items, changed quantities, rates and exclusions, and how much of the price change is explained.
- Variation analysisCheck a variation quote line by line against the original price: quantities, rates, new items and the unexplained balance, listed as issues for professional review.
- Equipment hire quotesCompare equipment hire quotes with daily, weekly and hourly rates, mobilisation, float and fuel terms on the same basis, with every assumption shown.
- Supplier quote comparisonCompare supplier quotes apples to apples: kg vs tonnes, ex vs inc GST, freight TBA and exclusions, with every figure traced to the page or row it came from.
- Commercial quote analysisCommercial analysis of competing quotes: complete-scope cost, risk register, payment terms and validity, labelled what-if scenarios and an exportable decision record.
The same rules, whoever you are
Every comparison follows the same principles. Similar wording is never treated as proof that two items are the same. Units are converted exactly within a dimension, and only with your stated assumption across dimensions. GST is applied or removed only where the quote states it or its totals prove it. Unknown costs are never treated as zero, and an incomplete comparison is labelled incomplete.
